COVID-19 Pandemic and CCCC Racing Calendar: Glenvale Crits Cancelled

The CCCC committee have developed a policy to manage the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

As a diverse community that prioritises health and advocates healthy activities we have a responsibility to all our members and volunteers to provide guidance in the current situation with COVID-19.

Due to the nature of our cycling events, and in consultation with medical experts, we have formed the view that CCCC is unable to guarantee stringent infection control environment to participants and volunteers at our races in the current situation.

In order to ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers and visitors we have decided to cancel the remaining 3 weeks of Sunday morning racing at our renowned Glenvale Crit Circuit.

The situation will also impact training sessions and group rides. These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

We remind cyclists that those people who have travelled overseas in the past 2 weeks, or who have symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or wheezing, breathing difficulties and headache should not be attending any group sessions at the track, in the gym or on the road.

The committee holds the view that minimising community transmission is the highest priority at this phase of the pandemic.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our membership updated.
