Congratulations to everyone who competed in yesterday’s Regional Road Championships held at Casey Fields. Blackburn CC and Southern Masters played host for the day after making the decision to hold the races on the closed track at Casey Fields. The morning started with the Juniors. We were represented by Tate G in the J15 race. Tate is a member of our Junior Development Program and is now our J15 Club Road Champion.
As the morning started to warm up so did the racing with the Carolyn Jones taking out the Women’s M4 Regional and Club titles.
Andrew Seen and Val Usatoff rode well in the M5 category with Andrew taking out the club title and Val runners up.
Brendan Haileur rode a strong race in M1 category to take out second place in the Regional Champs and the club title.
Gary Polack smiled his way around Casey Fields taking out second in the M2 Regional title and winning the Club title.
Craig Doherty took out the M4 club title with Christian Requin taking out second in the M8 Regional title and first in the Club title.
The day finished with the Elite race which saw Blackburn’s Tom Leaper ride away to win the Regional Title, after having to be happy with second earlier in the day in his masters category. Matthew de Vroet held on for second and the Club title. While Leigh Phillips placed third and second in the Club. Sam Tomkinson earned himself third in the Club titles.
