After spending most of the weekend either at DISC or other errands (such as cooking myself dinner), I’m hoping to write up a summary of the juniors Saturday racing tonight.
The seniors results need to be updated on the CV website to include events where there was just a final (Under 19 men/women and Masters women open/restricted for both team sprint & pursuit and elite women for the team pursuit). I wrote down most of the team sprint times, but I was on the rollers warming up during the team pursuit qualifying … so I wasn’t able to write down the times. (I did enjoy watching the BBN vs CCCC JM19 team pursuit battle from the rollers though!)

Thank you to the parents who were on “holder” duty yesterday (sometimes at a seconds notice), and Mick Cummings who helped the team pursuit teams with schedules.
And of course thanks to Alice Cardwell and Kerry Fitzgerald for helping me form a team for the elite women’s team pursuit so I got to race as well as help organise! (We got rewarded with a GOLD medal for our effort … and hope for more competition next year.)

Have already purchased my tickets in the home straight. Should be a great night of racing with a strong contingent of European Professionals to race. Looking forward to this meeting.

So why doesn’t the website work like it does on the youtube video? It says I have to give my credit card details and a dollar amount for an order i haven’t even made yet? Don’t even know how much anything is.

Great ride!!! I have done this climb in summer… with the temp at about 22C at the bottom when we set-off at about 2 pm. We got to the top and were soon engulfed in a complete snowstorm… epic! Within 30 mins there was about 20cm of snow… And this was in July!

I hear today that another top rider apparently asked permission to use a radio and was told he could not? This might not be true but I believe it to be correct.

Reading on facebook that Rogers and Porte were informed 15 minutes prior to start time that they could use radios. In this case you can be reasonably sure that non team riders may not have been told at all or also got little notice.

Given commissaires are usually dogmatic when it comes to Australian Championship rules, therefore it is hard to understand why they capitulated on this occasion. Maybe it have had been pressure from CA to give GreenEDGE their way?
