( 3 / 3 )Well if those who injured Cancellara had a motor in his bike to ride like he did in the early classics then they must reckon he had wings last night. A friend told me he had easy conditions on Saturday but for mine 52k's in 1 hour and 56 seconds is just so great. Tony Martin did very well also at 17 seconds behind him.
To ride at that speed after 3 weeks of hard racing is just awesome and shows his true class once again. To that Italian journalist who originally raised that crap story, what do you think now?????? Wings?
Looking forward to tonight and then hopefully some unbroken sleep for a few nights.
Cheers.

( 0 / 0 )This morning I left home at 8.30am, a respectable time given the late night watching the Tour TT's. Rode from Ringwood to the Beach and met Jan, Col and Bruce for coffee. Bruce was on his new Giant with all the bells and whistles and I think motor in the bottom bracket. Col reckons he's gonna pinch the battery out of Bruce's gears to stuff him up. Whilst having coffee Bruce had is new bike within eye shot of where he was sitting. Bruce's new bike is really great, light and fantastic gears with the front changer that aligned to the back cog the chain is on. Col was on his new Giant and it is really great value for the price he paid.
We rode back out home then I decided to go up the hills. so up the bike path to The Basin then up the 1 in 20 to Sassafras and then back home. My round trip was 120k's or plus and I did it okay considering it was my 4th ride in the month. I am quite surprised that considering my rides have been very limited I don't feel too bad but put this down to all hill rides each outing. Pelvis feels okay when riding just some issues getting on/off plus off the bike itself.
Hope you all had a good weekend either racing or just out riding. Have a safe week.

( 1 / 1 )Simon Clarke came 3rd in the 7th stage of the Tour of Quighai Lake in a big finish. At stage 6 Simon was 35th at 27mins 22 sec of 119 riders. Hopefully Simon get's a start in the World road title in Geelong but it will not be easy given the list of very good riders who are contenders. The one thing Simon has in his favour is that he always performs well in long races and would act as the perfect domestique for Cadel and co.
Well done Simon. you can go into Simon's website on www.simonclarke.com.au
