CCCC’s Saturday afternoon track racing is BACK – starting this Saturday 27 October. Apologies for the late notice – its been a hectic week!
Details:
- Shed open from 1:00 – 1:30 pm
– Registration from 1:30 – 2:00 pm
– Racing starts at 2:00 pm (when Mick Hollingworth arrives)
Please bear with us this week while we sort out grades at the start of the season, and commissaire Mick Hollingworth and administrator Penny Robinson juggle racing with various family commitments.
Entry fees:
– JDP = Free. (Included in your JDP Term 4 fees)
– Non-JDP Juniors = $ 5
– Seniors = $ 10
A reminder that JDP’ers are highly encouraged to race track on Saturday afternoons. It is low key, fun racing – and everyone cheers each other on. We have grades suitable for newbies as well as experienced riders.
By the end of the year, there will be a Rotunda, BBQ and picnic tables reasonably close to the velodrome (Bocci lawn) too :-) (And a lights update – work will start on the Packer Park lights next week, hopefully finished in December!)
Racing is graded (not age groups). There are three or four races per race meet, depending on numbers and timing – the first is a scratch race. Other races are chosen from: sprint, points, elimination, handicap … and if the motorbike is there – keirin or motorpace.
(If the motorbike is there, we will try to have at least one motorbike event, because we know how popular they are!)
Parent helpers required!
If you’re able to help with one of the following tasks, please let us know:
* Shed duty before or after racing
* Set-up of the marque
* Helping at the registration desk
* Pack-up after racing has finished
* Take photographs, for inclusion in race report
* JUDGING (sometimes with the assistance of photos!)

No racing on Sat 3 November (Melbourne Cup Weekend), Sat 24 November (Victorian Track Cup, which we encourage everyone to race in).
And no racing on Sat 1 December due to the Tour of Bright – no commissaires are available!!
