Congratulations to Carol for taking the win in the T1/T2 Individual Time Trial at Brands Hatch raceway overnight. Carol took the win by 21 seconds over the 8km distance. Silver went to German rider Hans-Peter Durst, with bronze won by home town rider David Stone.
Carol told Channel 9 “I had done a lot of work back in Victoria … we had the course, we videotaped it in June and we put the gradient to it … so I’d ridden it on a stationary bike … chasing my butt around the course and never catching it, but it’s just been so invaluable”.
Also in the medals was Michael Gallagher, who claimed bronze in his 24km TT. Michael was quicker than long time rival Andrea Tarlao, but couldn’t match Ukranian Yegor Dementyev or China’s Xinyang Liu.
