Well must as I lecture people to take care racing on a hot night, I went to Sandown. Having only been on my MTB on New Years day and rolling around at Bunninyong my legs are under done or fresh. No I did not race but went down to assist with E grade as I thought Rob would still be in Hospital or home taking it easy. Good ride around only 5 youngsters with Rob, Ray Smith and me and the kids went pretty well in the heat. Whilst the wind was from the South Sandown was still very hot and may have been heat out of the track surface.
All grades looked very hard tonight with A grade hammering along. For me I am not missing racing with the younger people at present as it would be pushing my body too much. No good of busting my gut just to please an old bloke ego, I reckon.
Will see how my February blood tests and Hospital trip goes and take it from there but I doubt racing will be part of my program, perhaps just keeping fit a bit.
Great racing tonight all grades and whilst numbers did pull out big groups did finish all races.
Congratulational to U19 Worlds Track Sprinter Luke Parker winning A grade. I had my money on you Luke when the field came into the straight.
