Melbourne’s fickle weather brought almost wintery conditions to Sandown tonight, with a very cold and very strong southerly wind making things tough for riders. The only successful break came in A Grade, with an early move containing proper hard men like David Sturt (Cycling-Inform), Justin Davis (O’Mara Cycles), Vaughan Bowman, Tom Leaper and Brent … In a field of many World Class riders which included many top class climbers Jonathan Clarke finished the 7 stage race in Argentina in 18th place on GC in 8 mins 26 secs. Perhaps summer is finally here to stay! Riders were treated to another hot and sunny morning at Glenvale Crescent this morning, albeit with a stronger breeze than last weekend which made all races just that little bit tougher. Early aggression paid off in A Grade, with the winning break going very early.
