TRAINING GOING OKAY

Looks like I am back on track in my training with 6 weeks to go. Starts are quite good over a quater lap, best today 7.9 secs on 96 gear and 8.27 on 100gear. These compare to around 8.2 on 88 or 90 inch gear twelve months ago and I am 2 kgs lighter.

PARACYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Caught up with Hilton Clarke at DISC today and he was full of praise for the ability, bike handling skills and courage of the riders he saw at Bordeaux France. He again told us of the Tandem road race which he said had 48 in it not 42, anyway whatever the number he had

AGREE LETTERS

In reading through some British Cycling Federation data today I see that the University of Derby has set in place a Cycle Coaching Degree. Looking at cycling in the time I was out of the sport great gains have been made in equipment and formal coaching as I currently experience with Hilton. As a

THE TWO MICHELLE’S

Guess who is riding the womens 500 M Team Sprint together? I’ll tell you, our Michelle King and Michelle Ferris, yes and these Ladies will take a lot of beating. It is great that Michelle Ferris is going to ride the World Masters track titles in October. Her CV in cycling results is very

GUY GREEN SECOND IN WORLD ROAD TITLE

I have been informed by Col Rourke that Guy Green of Blackburn Club has come second today in his age group at the World Masters Road Titles. A swiss rider was first and the two of them were 5 seconds ahead of the bunch. What a great performance. Results not on Cyclingnews as yet

RUSSELL MOCKRIDGE

If you go to www.cyclingnews.com/track/?id=mockridge00 you will read a fine article by Trevor Wykes. On the Saturday he was killed in 1958 I was 12 years of age and I remember how sad everyone in Australia was with such tragic news. Jim Taylor of Southern Vets and a former Cycle sport Victoria board member
